One Love Movie Achieves Success Despite Errors
One Love had an enormous$ 50 million or even more domestic opening during the six- day Valentine’s Day- Presidents Day weekend, enough to surpass Madame Web’$26.2 million morning, a record worst for Sony’s idol ventures!!!
Monday, data shows One Love bringing in$ 52 million for the six days locally, up from Sunday’s haul of$ 51 million. That includes$34.1 million for the four- day Presidents Day weekend and a record$ 14 million on Valentine’s Day( industry experts say the decision to release on Valentine’s day was a wise move in gaining momentum). The movie’s weekend debut is comparable to the premieres of similar musical biopics like Rocketman or Elvis, and it nearly doubled the business it was projected to do!( Numbers for all films may fluctuate once final weekend figures are tallied following the Monday holiday.)
Internationally, One Love earned an impressive$ 29 million for a global total exceeding$ 80 million against a$ 70 million budget. The film ranked first in 13 markets and established new opening day records for a music biopic in the U.K., France, and other regions. In Jamaica, the film set a new benchmark for the highest film opening ever.
One Love director Reinaldo Marcus Green’s portrayal of the legendary Jamaican musician and Rastafarian features Kingsley Ben- Adir. It chronicles Marley trying to make one of his 1977 album Departure and the events of the following times, including a murder attempt and his belief that music could heal his nation in its post-colonial era. The film’s producers include Marley’s children Ziggy and Cedella, as well as his wife, Rita.
Ziggy Marley stated in a interview ” My family and I are overwhelmed with the amazing response to Bob Marley One Love. As my father’s music is for separate individual, this film is meant for individuals and his message of peace, love, and unity is clearly resonating with audiences and the nations all around the world. We thank everyone for embracing this film and thereby helping to amplify the message of one love.”
The biopic is attracting an ethnically diverse audience; African American moviegoers accounted for 40 of Friday ticket buyers, followed by Latinos( 25), Caucasians( 23), Asians( 5), and Native Americans Others( 7), according to PostTrak. Women comprised 56 of the audience.
